​What time does discipleship start?

Doors open at 6:45 PM and our service starts at 7:00 PM.

Where do I go when I get there?

Come in through the main double door entrance off Don Street.

What do you do for kids?

We don’t run our Ascension Kids programme during the mid week meetings but the resource station in the Worship Centre is always available.

How long is the service?

This service starts at 7:00 PM and finishes at 8:30 PM. We start with contemporary songs and worship, followed by a mixture of teaching, break-out groups, and workshops. After the service we enjoy each other’s company over tea or coffee.

What should I wear?

We don’t have a dress code, most people wear casual clothes.

Who is this service for?

These services are designed to help people grow in living relevant, authentic, Christ-centred lives. We provide spiritual and practical training on a wide range of topics.

Why

Life is full of challenges and we need God-given skills to use in those situations. Applying the word of God in real life is an essential key to Christian discipleship.

Application

The application of God’s word requires deliberate attention on our part, because we are discovering a new way of doing life. Firstly we learn how to think about our lives from God’s perspective, and then how to live from His perspective!

When

Discipleship runs on Wednesday nights from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM during the school term. We start each service with worship similar to our Sunday service but there are no Ascension Kids programmes running. Parents are welcome to use the Ascension Kids facilities if they need to bring their children along, just leave the rooms how you found them.

Focus

Discipleship at Ascension Church is focused on growing God’s people to live powerful lives that reflect the character and nature of Jesus. We run discipleship in 5 - 6 week series designed around specific principles in God’s word, but people are free to join any time.
